Conveniently located five
minutes walk from Lime Street station and ten minutes from the bus station, the Ship
& Mitre is Liverpool
’s premier Free House. There has been a pub and / or hotel on the site
since 1884, if not before that. The present pub is a 1930’s Art Deco
building, previously owned by Bents brewery and was their flagship. It
became a free trade pub in the 1970’s and had a major refurbishment in the early 1980’s when the name was changed from
The Mitre. Today we have an enviable reputation for having a huge selection
of bottled beers and Cask Marque status for the choice of twelve real ales we serve. We also use
oversized glasses! Food can be chosen from our own menu and is freshly
prepared and supplied locally. Offering beautiful beer along with
tasty food in a very warm, friendly atmosphere, this is a pub for your
‘must try’ list, placed right at the top! Brian and his team look
forward to seeing you soon. Watch out for the Beer Festivals.
