The Railway is located in Meols on a
main road close to the railway station about a mile from Hoy Lake, on the way to the
beach. Recently a Viking ship was discovered to be underneath the pub
car park!
Built in 1938 by the Birkenhead Brewing Company it was refurbished in July
2008 with a new, contemporary look including booth seating with TV's in
them. The blends of the colours on the walls red, cream, brown, green and
beige work really well together and give it a sophisticated look. We
have a separate bar and restaurant area with 280 seats for dining with
another 30 seats for al fresco dining. This very welcoming venue is female friendly and
equally popular for the real ales and other drinks available at the bar.
As
for the the tasty meals served from the Hungry Horse menu, these are
available all day, every day, offering something to suit every member of the
family!
Entertainment includes two quiz nights. Pool and darts teams meet here
and numerous screens allow all to watch the important match of the moment.
If you are new to the area or just passing through be sure to call in and
sample this great community pub. Everyone
will be made very welcome.
