The
Knockaloe Bar & Restaurant
is a great venue to relax and unwind with friends or
family. We are located within the OC Club in an open setting with beautiful views of
the grounds and within easy
walking distance of Bromborough
railway station.
We have a large south facing decked area
for dining and enjoying a drink which is also a good
spot for our younger visitors and for holding summer barbecues. We show all
sports here on
many large screens around the place so you are sure not
to miss a
minute. The venue was
built in the 1850's within 11 acres of beautiful
grounds, owned by Professor Nance as a working manor
house. He gave the house to the community in the
1930s for everyone to enjoy. In 1957 the council
sold the Knockaloe to the Octel Fuel Plant as a
private club for employees and families. It was
then known as the Octel Sports and Social Club. In 2006
the Anderson family bought the club and reopened it to
the community once more as the Knockaloe. Now refurbished and modernised it has
been tastefully brought into the 21st century.
With some of the old traditions kept, new ideas
have been added such as a games room with pool table and
a quiz machine
for your more competitive side. The Knockaloe has
something for everyone and we look forward to seeing you soon. |
