This pub is located in a very beautiful
suburb of Southport, called Churchtown. The village is very old with
17th century thatched cottages still standing.
The Bold Arms probably goes back to the 1200's but was documented as
having building work in 1637, being owned by the Bold family.
William ' Duke ' Sutton, landlord in 1776 founded Southport and we still
have his old stables. We have good drinking facilities, with 4 to 5
rooms with many nooks and crannies. Freshly prepared pub food is available daily from
a good main menu. This pub is an excellent place
to come to chat and take in all the history.
