English Ale Festival

English Ale Festival in celebration of St George.

Come and take part in our new English Ale Festival, running until the 28th May. As well as a number of English cask ales you can request us to source locally brewed beers! In addition to superb beers we have launched a newsletter with lots of helpful information. You can also take part in our collector scheme, whereby if you purchase 9 festival bitters you will be entered into a free prize draw to win a limited edition glass tankard engraved with the Festival logo.

REFURBISHMENT

We re-opened following a major refurbishment in October 2007. With a fantastic new look, offering cask ales, extra cold beers, Fairtrade coffee and food served all day every day. Why not come along and see the changes for yourself.

Black Horse Photo

The Black Horse is situated in the village of Rainhill which is just a short distance from St Helens and Prescott.  Fully refurbished to a high standard in October 2007, we have kept the great atmosphere that is our trademark.  You can enjoy a drink alone or with friends in the bar area, which has a cosy feel, with wood and slate flooring and relaxed seating area including couches.  With wireless internet access, you are welcome to come along for a cup of Fairtrade coffee and surf the net or do some work in a comfortable, relaxed environment.  Good pub food is served all day, with a value for money menu, offering a range of cooked to order food.  You can choose to dine throughout the pub, with half of the pub laid out into more of a dining area style.  There are nooks and raised areas, so if you look around you may discover an area you didn't know was there.  We are a traditional family orientated pub, offering cask ales, extra cold beers, Fairtrade coffee and food served all day every day.  Along with a warm and friendly atmosphere that welcomes every guest with open arms and a big smile.  So whatever your reason for visiting we look forward to you seeing you soon.
