The
Birkey is a good locals bar situated in
Crosby. Historically there has been a Birkley on this site
since 1840. There is a picture on the wall of the pub showing
the 1920 Birkley picnic, around the time it was knocked down and
rebuilt. Today it has had a refurbishment in Spring 2005 and
now has tasteful bright, modern decor in red, yellow and green.
There are two separate bars. The lounge is where you can enjoy
a quiet drink and a chat. The sports bar is where we show all
major matches on the big screens, plasma screen and other TVs.
There is also a pool table and darts board for friendly games over a
pint. Other entertainment includes a weekly quiz and
occasional live bands. Outside there is a nice seating area
for the warm days of summer. Call in soon to this trouble
free, female friendly pub and receive your sociable welcome from the
staff and local regulars. You too may become a regular
yourself.
