Named
The Yews after the ancient trees
standing in the car park this popular dining venue was built in 1750.
Great Glen, where we are situated, is a small affluent village
surrounded by countryside in a peaceful location. There is access
to local walks which are well used by ramblers and people just out for a
stroll. The outside appearance resembles a small manor house with
four rooms inside offering two open fires which create a very
comfortable environment. There is a relaxed, pleasant and friendly
atmosphere enhanced by our professional staff who are here to make sure
you have a superb experience. Being part of the Chef & Brewer
chain you will find it hard to beat the quality of our traditional pub
food. This is all prepared from fresh ingredients and cooked to
order by Chefs who pride themselves in their work. They are given
a free hand to deviate from the main menu, offering a delicious
selection of additional Specials, especially fresh fish dishes.
Meals can be accompanied by a choice wine from the wine list or a real
ale if preferred. Having Cask Marque accreditation this will be
served to perfection! In the
evenings dining by candle light is popular as are al fresco
family meals during the summer. Our enclosed landscaped garden is well kept with
seating for approximately 200 people. This is believed to be the
largest beer garden in Leicestershire. Come and enjoy it with
friends in the near future. Whatever
time of year The Yews is an inviting venue to try.
