The Old Rectory is to be found in Stockport town centre.  Historically the main building dates from 1720 when it was the rectory to St Mary's Parish Church.  Boddingtons bought it in 1991 from the Council and spent £2.5 million converting and extending it to a pub.  Since then it has gone through many changes of breweries up to the present day Spirit ownership.  It has managed to retain the character of the old rectory.  There is a mixture of seating including bucket chairs and sofas in the lounge and bar area.  We are the only pub in the area to offer restaurant style service in the dining area, a huge conservatory which is light, bright and airy.  This venue is a remarkably fine building where we offer very friendly, helpful service.  Being next to a Premier Inn, we serve breakfast every morning for residents and non residents alike.  Come and see us next time you are in the area.
