Sharing the road to the Castle and Priory you will find
Merchants in the centre of Lancaster. In an ideal location next to the
railway station we are a popular delay for commuters! Built in 1688
the venue was originally used as a wine cellar and is part of the same
building as the tourist information office next door. We meet
underground! There are three separate rooms which are nice and airy
despite being a cellar. Our clientele includes a good base of regular
locals as well as tourists and many students. We serve food from a
main menu and our offer is a particular favourite. There is a
good range of drinks available including a full selection of wines and
cocktails with our own "Merchant Banker Cocktail" which has to be
tasted. This is a unique pub where everyone is welcomed and there is
no intimidation or feeling of discomfort. Come along to this sociable
pub soon and receive your warm welcome.
