 The Hare & Hounds is located in
the village of Lowton just a ten minute drive from Leigh. Formerly old
holding cells for prisoners, this pleasant looking pub dates back to the
17th Century. Fully refurbished in April 2008 with a completely new
look, yet retaining original features such as low beams and open fires.
Light green and beige decor creates a relaxing environment to enjoy informal
dining or just a drink alone or with friends. With soft seating in the
bar area you can comfortably take advantage of our free wi-fi access.
Dining can be enjoyed the bar or dining area with up to 130 covers, or even
outside for a spot of al fresco dining. Good pub food is served daily,
with dishes freshly prepared using local produce wherever possible and all
our meat is UK sourced . Entertainment such as the popular weekly quiz night
is held and we show all major sports matches on the TV and LCD screen.
Children are catered for with a small indoor play area. If you are in the area come
and try us out and meet the friendly clientele.
