 The Hare & Hounds is located in
the picturesque village of Holcombe Brook, four miles north of Bury
and just three miles from the M66. It only takes 45 minutes to drive from
Manchester. With open moorland just around the corner this is great
rambling country. This listed building dates back to the 1600’s.
Fully refurbished to a high standard in December 2007, although we retained
our traditional feel, the look is more contemporary with a lighter, brighter
feel. Two open fires give it a warm, home from home atmosphere in the
winter time. Ours is the only pub in the village and offers a
friendly, inviting venue to pop in to for a drink or a great meal.
We are famous for our real ales, offering up to
ten at any one time, including the locally brewed Bank Top Flat Cap.
Quality pub food is available every day, with a varied menu offering cooked
to order dishes. You may want to finish your meal with a fresh
Fairtrade coffee. The
rear of the pub is within a few steps to the woods and the garden overlooks the brook.
We show all major matches on the screens around the bar and there is also a
pool table for a friendly game with friends. Next time you are out
walking or just passing nearby, call in and have a bite to eat or try one of
our special brews. You will be sure of a warm welcome.
