 The Axe & Cleaver is situated in the attractive village of Dunham Massey which is mainly owned by the National Trust. The walled park has a 300 year old deer herd and there is a manor house which you can walk around. The pub dates back to 1880 when it was a house with a beer licence. Over the years it has been built on and the Coaching Inn-style out-buildings are listed. We re-opened in 2010 following a refurbishment with a bright new feel, decorated in cream's and brown's. Outside the garden has a rural, tranquil atmosphere. The Axe & Cleaver enjoys a great reputation near and far for great food & drink delivered with friendly service at a reasonable price.
