The
White Lion is a 16th Century Coaching Inn on
the High Street of the village of Tenterden with its
lovely housing and quaint shops. During the week
our clientele are mostly business people as well as our
local regulars. At the weekend we are popular with
tourists who visit Tenterden as a change from the main
towns. There are castle's and houses to visit
close by and Rye is not far from here. Being less
than an hour away from the Channel Tunnel our
accommodation is handy for an early start to or from
Europe. Inside the pub is open plan but with
private corners and two open fires. The one in the
bar is lit daily usually in the winter. The decor of
gold, burgundy and green, along with the lovely oak
flooring combines the olde worlde with modern
convenience. The bar area is usually kept for
adults only but we do welcome families and there is a
lovely terrace area outside with great views of the high
street which is a popular spot for sitting out with the
children on warmer days. If you fancy a meal
outside we'll serve you out there. We have a
private room for meetings or gatherings so if you are
looking for a venue please call us. Come and enjoy
