The
Vauxhall Inn is located just a mile outside Tonbridge on the
main A21 road. Built in the 15th Century, it still retains some of the
original facade to the front and beams inside marked up with Roman numerals to
indicate which order they should be erected! There have been large
extensions over the years but it has kept a typical Kentish style. This
includes three
open fireplaces and a traditional look. Today this venue is a destination
food house which can seat 180 people inside and has a garden outside which
overlooks fields. A really lovely place to come and enjoy a drink with
friends or a meal with the family. The chef, Robert Maxwell, was the Chef
& Brewer 'Chef of the Year' in 2003 which rather indicates the quality of
food you can expect here. You will be served meals which have been prepared
from the freshest of ingredients and cooked to order. They can be enjoyed anywhere in the pub. There is an excellent
choice of wines to accompany your meal or, if preferred, three real ales and a
variety of bottled products from the bar. Come and visit this cosy, pretty
venue in the near future and experience the relaxed, comfortable atmosphere
which is the Vauxhall Inn.
