English Ale Festival in celebration of St George.
Come and take part in our new English Ale Festival, running
until the 28th May. As well as a number of English cask ales you
can request us to source locally brewed beers! In addition to
superb beers we have launched a newsletter with lots of helpful
information. You can also take part in our collector scheme,
whereby if you purchase 9 festival bitters you will be entered
into a free prize draw to win a limited edition glass tankard
engraved with the Festival logo. |

REFURBISHMENT |
We re-opened 19th June 2007
following a major refurbishment. We are very proud of our new look and
have increased the al fresco area by three fold. You must come and see
the changes for yourself. |

accompaniments. All our produce is British Farm Assured & meat
is UK reared.

A Bistro Menu is also served all day every day with freshly

The Young Pretender, formerly known as
Millers, is easy to find being on the main road between Hemel Hempstead and
Watford where the M1 meets the M25. Fully refurbished to a high
standard in June 2007, we are very proud of the beautiful new look.
Inside is open plan with an elegant contemporary style and mixed
seating arrangements from carver chairs to bar stools. There is a
pleasant small back area with a covered pergola and Romany style drapes up the
side. The fantastic new decking area has been extended and now offers
a massive area so you can enjoy a refreshing drink or meal throughout the
summertime. Food has been upgraded to a daily carvery and bistro
style menu. The carvery offers up to four roasts and a selection of fresh
seasonal vegetables. Alternatively, you can dine from the menu, with cooked to
order dishes prepared in-house using fresh seasonal produce. Choose
to dine throughout the pub with full table service offered, (although you
still serve your own carvery meal,) or outside with table service upon
payment at the bar for your meal. Open from early in the morning, it
is ideal for business people or early risers to enjoy breakfast, sit with
a cup of coffee and read the daily papers or do some work on the laptop.
People passing through can book themselves in at the Premier Inn next door,
which is clean and comfortable with everything you need for a good night's
sleep. A relaxed,
informal atmosphere, with a friendly helpful team awaits you at the new
Young Pretender.
