The
White Lion, in the centre of Stevenage, is a very old building with cells
existing downstairs dating back to Napoleonic days,
although they are sealed off. This traditional looking listed building
has been added to over the years but has a fireplace which is thought to be original.
Today the layout is open plan but
with two very separate areas, a public bar and a
lounge area. Four plasma screens show all the football that's around,
screening two different matches at the same time when requested, so you
don't need to miss an important game!
During the day this is a typical town centre pub
with shoppers, workers, builders etc. coming to enjoy their lunch or relax
with friends and colleagues over a pint. Value for money pub food is
served from a main menu along with a deluxe burger menu. We are on the
local Circuit in the evening and with something different on every night,
from live football to karaoke, we are a very popular place to be. Come
and try us soon.
