The Rat's Castle is located next to a supermarket,
in an up and coming area of St Albans. This is one of the oldest
pubs in St Albans and, having been newly refurbished in 2007 and under
new management in 2008, you must come and see the new pub, especially if
you knew the old one. Having a new
look and a new feel, we are female and family friendly. We pride ourselves on our real ales,
the traditional pub atmosphere and offering a genuine warm welcome.
The small team is run by
Gordon and his wife Stlina, who is Swiss and speaks English,
French, German and Italian. We are mostly frequented by local
regulars but everyone is made to feel at home by staff and locals alike.
This is a great place for watching Sport and we show all major matches on
three plasma screens, positioned so you can view from anywhere in
the pub. There are also two
pool tables and a darts board. We hold live entertainment on
a Friday night with our famous Karaoke once a month. Parties of up to
100 people can be held here to one end of the pub which can be shut off. Please
ring or pop in to make enquiries. The new
Rat's Castle is one to put on your
