The
Radcliffe Arms is a Victorian red brick pub in Hitchin, dating back to
about 1855. Originally known as the Nightingale, the name was
changed in the late 19th Century in recognition of the Radcliffe family
who had contributed much to the social and cultural development of the
local area. Today, having had an extensive refurbishment in Spring
2009, this is a gastro-pub well worth trying. There are 60 covers
in the restaurant, conservatory and terraced area plus a function room upstairs to
cater for groups of all sizes. Delicious food is prepared from a
main menu and this can be complemented by a quality wine or real ale
served to perfection. Come and see us next time you are in the
area and see all the changes. |
