Plume of Feathers PhotoBuilt in 1596, The Plume of Feathers is an historic Inn, a former hunting lodge of Elizabeth I and later the haunt of Highwaymen.  Since these times we now boast several ghosts including a ‘Lady in Grey’. These days a warm welcome awaits everyone.  As you make your way into the gravelled car park, the impressive building and well-maintained gardens shout quality.  As you enter the Inn there is a feeling of comfort that only a few places can offer.  The staff are quick to ascertain whether you wish your visit to be a formal, or a more casual occasion.  The interesting floor layout means customers can have a quiet corner table, or, be more a part of the atmospheric hub.  Groups of up to 30 people are easily catered for with prior consultation.  We pride ourselves on the exciting menu containing many modern with a tempting variety available.  The menu is always exciting with a selection of many daily specials.  During a visit you are very likely to see one of the chefs out in the restaurant talking to customers about the menu and offering advice where necessary on any dietary requirements customers may have. Enjoy al fresco dining all summer long in our magnificent gardens with wonderful views over rolling hills and woodlands.  In the colder winter months our two open log fires are a welcoming comfort as you wine and dine, or just have a few drinks with friends.  The great selection of wines in stock, which are all available by the glass, have been selected from around the world.  Our range of cask ales have been ‘Cask Marque accredited’ to ensure a perfect pint!  Customers come from near and far, with even some of the local celebrity residents dropping from time to time.  Due to the popularity of the Plume of Feathers it is advisable to book a table for the restaurant in advance, so as to avoid disappointment.  Alternatively, why not just drop by for a drink with friends or read one of the newspapers and magazines that are available.  We all look forward to your visit.
