![]() Located on the main road from Luton in a suburb of Harpenden The Old Bell is situated within an olde worlde village-like community. We re-opened following a refurbishment in Autumn 2010. Inside is contemporary in design with a great atmosphere, much lighter & brighter. We have a beautiful fireplace to which we light through winter until February each year. An outstanding food house, there is no bar area, just eating areas to cater for large and small dining parties. With 80 to 120 covers our good reputation has been established by word of mouth. We offer quality traditional pub food in very comfortable and friendly surroundings. Like all Chef & Brewers we employ the best Chefs in the area with seven working to deliver you first class meals! They stand out because everything is prepared from fresh ingredients and cooked to order. Your chosen dish is served by helpful staff who can show you a comprehensive wine list to complement your meal. There is coffee or tea to finish and of course a fine selection of beers and ales at the bar. Originally an old farmhouse, the Old Bell became a public house in 1735 when the train tracks at the end of the road were being laid. Still retaining all the features from that time you will be surrounded by original open fires and exposed beams overhead. Named Old Bell, the regulars often say it should be renamed the 'Dog on the Roof' because of the amount of time the landlord's dog spends up there! Come along soon to sit back and enjoy a superb dining experience. You will not be disappointed with your choice. |
