PUB DOG IN TRAINING

Duchess has come to live with us, and is learning to be a pub dog. She has spent her life looking after Gill's sister and children, so she is a great guard dog, albeit a noisy one! She has a lovely character, and is quite laid back. She happily befriends other dogs when introduced properly. If you have any concerns, allergies, etc, do let us know. At busy times and lunch time, she will be helping with paperwork in the office or stocktaking out back...so you may not see or hear her.
There are dog biscuits are on the front window sill! Please do not offer Duchess any food, as she is well-fed by us, and knows she should not bother customers. Thank you.

MOBILE PHONE POLICY

The pub is a mobile free area, so visitors are asked to turn mobiles off or to silent, and take calls outside if necessary. Fines are charged for excessive noise caused by mobiles, which goes to charity!

Land of Liberty, Peace & Plenty Photo

The
Land of Liberty Peace & Plenty is a star among pubs located half a mile from Junction 17 of the M25 in Heronsgate.  Built in the 1820's, it was the local beer shop before becoming a three roomed pub in the 1870's.  It has undergone various changes over the years and as the repairs and renewals continue many points of interest and features are being found, these are preserved wherever possible.  In March 2008 the salvaged bar from the tasting room of the closed Grand Union Brewery was added to the pub!  Outside, there is an area open behind the pub which is ideal for groups, parties, outdoor dining and enjoying a drink with friends.  There is also a covered pavilion in the large garden.  Live music is held occasionally in the bar, and in the garden during summer.  Quality homemade lunches are served using locally sourced produce wherever possible and there are bar snacks available all day.  Your meal can be complemented by a good wine or a choice real ale if you prefer.  The owners of the Land Of Liberty, Peace and Plenty pride themselves on the quality of our real ales which are served in oversized glasses for a fill liquid pint.  This is a place where the residents and locals enjoy hearing from people who have family connections with the pub, and have put families in touch across the globe to help them trace family trees!  Gill and Martin consider that they are running and living in a community service as well as a business, hence they sell various items unusual for a pub (in the absence of a village shop) and help out our neighbours whenever possible. This is a venue to put on your 'must try soon' list so come and meet Duchess, the special pub dog 'in training' along with the welcoming team at the Land of Liberty Peace & Plenty.

When you visit the pub please let the staff know you have seen it on Pub Explorer.
