The Cock
is situated on the High Street of Hitchin town centre, a small attractive
market town. Originally it was an old Coaching Inn which dates back to
1563 which has been refurbished in 2009 with a fresh look.
We have many tourists come to view it and it is part of the town's Ghost
Walk tour. We serve meals every day from an upmarket Greene King's
Town City menu selection.
There is a warm, friendly traditional atmosphere here for regulars and passers by
alike. We are a friendly place to meet for coffee in the
morning, enjoy a shopping or lunch break with a nice glass of wine, or wind
down after work before going home to start all over again! In the evenings
the atmosphere becomes more lively with music at a comfortable level to
still have a chat. We offer good food at reasonable prices, an extensive wine list
and a good range of beers and lagers.
