Located
in Redbourn village The Chequers
is not far from Hertfordshire County Show Ground. This thatched Grade
II listed building dates back to the 17th Century, originally being a
Coaching Inn on the main route from London to Newcastle. Inside
you will find the pub very quaint with original beams, two wood burners
and, unlike many Chef & Brewers, a fairly open plan. The
thatched roof was last replaced in 2004 after a fire in the November.
Our very helpful staff give a warm, friendly welcome to customers old
and new. You can relax in comfort whilst we serve the quality food and
drink. Predominantly a food led pub we employ Chefs who pride
themselves in their work. Like all Chef & Brewers our meals
are prepared from the freshest ingredients and cooked to order.
Our chefs have a free hand to add something special to the menu with many
unique additional dishes for you to choose from. Our wine list
gives you a good selection to complement your meal and with coffee and
tea to finish you will not have a better dining experience. To
inject something different into the pub we hold a number of exciting
events throughout the year. These are always well worth attending.
We have won the coveted 'Redbourn in Bloom' competition two years running.
Come along to see the floral displays and have a relaxed and
enjoyable time with friends.
