English Ale Festival in celebration of St George.
Come and take part in our new English Ale Festival, running
until the 28th May. As well as a number of English cask ales you
can request us to source locally brewed beers! In addition to
superb beers we have launched a newsletter with lots of helpful
information. You can also take part in our collector scheme,
whereby if you purchase 9 festival bitters you will be entered
into a free prize draw to win a limited edition glass tankard
engraved with the Festival logo. |

 The Woodpecker is located
just 5 minutes walk from the town
centre. Fully refurbished to a high standard in October 2007, we have
a fantastic new look with contemporary colour scheme, comfy seating area
and even chandeliers. The new menu offers a variety of dishes
including traditional pub favourites and the Sunday Carvery is not to be
missed. There is a full range of wines on offer to complement your
meal and our well kept cask ales are always a favourite. You are
welcome to take advantage of our free wireless internet access, and
enjoy just a drink or maybe a cup of fresh coffee. The lounge
seating area means you can relax alone or with friends or even have an
informal business meeting. During the summer months the patio area
to the front of the pub is great for al fresco dining. The friendly team
