Trooper Inn PhotosThe Trooper Inn is a Fine Country Inn, Restaurant and Hotel,
situated in the heart of the Hampshire countryside.  The heart of the Trooper, our spacious bar, combines the traditional character of an English country inn with a continental elegance.  The large, sociable bar is flanked by comfortable dining areas, warmed through the winter by a generous log fire.  The Trooper is a Free House, and we take full advantage of this to stock a wide range of excellent beers from the best local breweries, as well as from further afield.  In the past six years we have stocked over 400 different real ales, each cellared and served with care, to guarantee a first class pint!  Or, if beer is not your cup of tea, we have a variety of fine wines and spirits to choose from or even a great cup of coffee (if we do say so ourselves!)

Trooper Inn RestaurantAs well as the dining areas immediately adjoining our bar, we also have a beautifully appointed restaurant.  This allows us to offer a variety of ambience from candle lit intimacy to spacious luxury.  You can dine from our excellent menu throughout the establishment.  Our food is prepared freshly to the highest standards, using the best quality ingredients, much of which is sourced from local suppliers.  Our menu features the finest country cooking - from our speciality half shoulder of lamb, fresh fish, pork dishes, succulent steaks, poultry and game, to a variety of imaginative vegetarian dishes.  In addition to our regular menu, we serve daily specials and a lunch menu which is regularly updated on our blackboard, not forgetting, of course, our sumptuously well stocked sweet trolley.

Trooper Inn HotelOur new hotel is the perfect place for a relaxing break.  Each of the eight en suite rooms has its own individual character - they are each named after a local village or landmark, and feature paintings specially commissioned by local artist Sally Maltby.  All the rooms are comfortable and attractively decorated, and most have wonderful views across the Hampshire Downs.  Each room boasts a full range of facilities, including en suite, TV, phone, hairdryer and trouser press.  The Trooper makes an excellent base for a relaxing and enjoyable break.  We back onto the stunning Ashford Hangers nature reserve and are well positioned for the South Downs, Jane Austen's Chawton and Gilbert White's Selborne.  The charming market town of Petersfield lies just a few minutes away.
