Ryde Castle, RydeA stay at The Ryde Castle is something to remember.  Ryde itself, though a major tourist resort and international yachting centre, retains a pleasant Victorian cheerfulness.  The majestic Castle building overlooks Ryde Esplanade and the harbour, with views across the Solent.  The Marina is opposite, with a swimming pool and golf course nearby.  The Castle is believed to have been commissioned by Henry VIII, around 1540, to defend the Spithead, Southampton Water and The Solent against the threat of a Spanish invasion.  A mischievous, but friendly spirit is rumoured to be a permanent Castle resident!  We offer delicious bar meals, snacks and a full a la carte menu in the Brasserie.  These can be enjoyed with family and friends, complemented with an extensive choice of drinks.  You will not find a better location to stay the night with 18 comfortable bedrooms available, some having four-poster beds and most with fantastic sea views.  These are very well priced for their location and rates include a hearty full English breakfast.  The staff at The Ryde Castle are highly experienced at catering for conferences, weddings and functions.  If you are thinking of getting married, The Ryde Castle offers the perfect venue, as we now hold a civil ceremony licence, you can enjoy your full day with us.  The fully equipped Tudor Room accommodates up to 150 people theatre style.  A visit here will be a very memorable one.
