The Jolly Sailor is situated beside the River Hamble in
the small village of Old Bursledon. Built in about 1750, it was owned by
the Church for 200 years prior to being sold to a
private brewer in about 1950. It was then
bought by Hall & Woodhouse in 1982 until the present
day. This very popular destination food house
has two inglenook fireplaces which are lit in
winter, flagstone floors, floorboards and beams
giving it a traditional ambience with a nautical
theme. The layout is open plan in the bar area with
a more private restaurant which has about 55 covers.
You can dine in the bar area or restaurant and table
bookings can be made for the restaurant. We
offer Gastro style dining, with an extensive range
of dishes all freshly prepared and cooked to order
using regional produce, British and Mediterranean
choices. There is extensive outdoor seating by the
river and we are proud of the friendly, courteous
service we offer and the warm and inviting
atmosphere created in this relaxed part of the
world. See you soon. |
