Ely PhotoThe Ely was named after a famous racehorse and built from the proceeds of a bet.  Ely won a prestigious race at Ascot and a man who placed his last few pounds on the horse was more than delighted when it won the race and he won his fortune!  With a major refurbishment completed in August 2005, the whole look is spacious, light and airy with a modern feel and it has mixed seating areas including sofas.  Many people still visit us for our food which is served throughout the pub. The menu offers a wide variety of well chosen dishes.  There is a beer garden to enjoy during the warmer months and an outdoor children's play area which is popular all year round.  We are also an ideal place to stay, with 35 en-suite lodge style rooms available at a very reasonable price.  With friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere we will be happy to see you any time at The Ely.

When you visit the pub please let the staff know you have seen it on Pub Explorer.
