Historical Real Ale Public House built in 1546, is located in Ely Court off
Hatton Garden, (directions above). Ye Olde
Mitre is a genuine old pub, once being host to Queen
Elizabeth who danced round our unique feature, a cherry tree in the
corner of the bar. This is an authentic 'real' pub having no TVs,
music or electronic games. Ye Olde Mitre has both a bar and lounge, as
well as an upstairs function room. Outside you will find a beer
barrel area, an ideal place for having a drink in the warm weather. The pub is easily accessible via the Chancery Lane Tube Station. Walk
down hill to Holborn Viaduct, turn left into Hatton Gardens, cross over
to the other side & pub is at the end of the alleyway, to the side of
number 9 Hatton Gardens which is Hirsch the Jewellers. Nearby
attractions include the jewellery centre at Hatton Gardens, St Paul's
Cathedral & Smithfield Market. The pub is available at weekends for
location work for programmes and documentaries, ideal for period dramas.
We have featured in many recent programmes for the BBC and radio as well
as the film "Snatch" starring Brad Pitt, produced by Guy Richie. The Deep Blue Sea was also
partly filmed here staring Rachel Weisz. The pub is available for filming or live recordings, subject to
availability. Tourists are very welcome here with friendly and helpful
staff offering good quality beverages including some well kept real
ales. The pub is also renowned internationally for its toasted
sandwiches. If you visit this part of London, you must come to Ye Olde Mitre. A great experience is guaranteed!
Remember we are closed Saturday, Sunday & Bank
Holiday Mondays. |
