Walmer Castle
is a trendy bar located on Ledbury
Road in Notting Hill with an authentic Thai restaurant upstairs offering
great affordable South East Asian cuisine. We are very well
supported locally and busy from opening time onwards, full most evenings
and especially at weekends. It is advisable to book for the
restaurant to avoid disappointment. The very old bar is
traditional in style with mix ‘n' match tables and chairs including big
Chesterfields and coffee tables. There is a small, slightly
raised, snug area which is great for groups of up to about twenty
people. Genuine Victorian mirrors are adorned with fairy
lights and these look great in Winter when it gets dark by 4.30pm and
candles are lit. Most of the tables in the bar area are laid out
for dining but we are also very popular for having a drink with friends
or alone and even for informal business meeting. The restaurant
upstairs has been refurbished in January 2008 to a modern oriental
style. Freshly painted, including the floors and with new
furniture we can cater for 60 people. It is light and airy with an
open fire lit during the colder weather. South East Asian cuisine from
Thai, Singapore, Burma etc. is served throughout the venue, with
excellent freshly cooked dishes available from our main menu. A
limited English menu is also available in the bar at lunchtimes only.
Come and give yourself a treat next time you are in the area.
