The Marquess of Anglesey is very well situated overlooking the
Covent Garden Opera House, within five to ten minutes walk
of many other theatres in the area. We are well known for our friendly, efficient
service and freshly cooked British Pub Fayre, served from an almost daily
changing menu. Our beer battered fish and chips, handmade
Cornish pasties and puddings such as steak and mushroom are particular
favourites. We also offer a selection of half a dozen different types of sausages and pure British
cheeses. To accompany your chosen meal there is a good range of well kept real ales from
the Young’s brewery and a large selection of fine wines. All this can be
enjoyed in the traditional bar with its real fire or the light and airy
bistro style 65 cover restaurant on the first floor, with a balcony which opens up
to fantastic views of the opera house. The Marquess is ideal for those sight seeing
in the area, shopping, coming for a night out on the town or
working in the locality. Because of our proximity to the theatres we are a
great pre-theatre venue, with a special menu available on weekdays.
After 8pm the atmosphere is more of a relaxed, informal one. Come
along soon and receive a warm, friendly welcome from our team.
