Green Man PhotoThe Green Man is situated on the A3, just off the main high street, in a residential area at the top of Putney Hill facing the Heath.  There is easy access and we are close to  the bus terminus.  Outside, the large garden is secluded and quite shaded so it’s pleasant when hot and throughout the summer time.  Many people make a special trip for the garden and our real ales.  Historically the pub, dates back to the 1700’s, and was renowned as a coach stop.  Dick Turpin is thought to have stopped here!  Inside, it is a clean, traditional pub which has retained an olde worlde feel.  We even have a listed game, which has been here hundreds of years called ‘Hook and Eye’.  There are two fireplaces and the main floor has exposed wood.  Outside there is a clock built into the wall to the front along with flowers and hanging baskets.  We are well known as a real ale house with our casks kept by the staff to a very high standard.  The bottles of real ale are also very popular with a large range available.  Soft background music is played most of the time so this is a place to come for good conversation as you won't have to shout over the noise.  Come and enjoy a quality real ale or a tasty traditional meal at this trouble free pub soon.  You are sure to want to come again.

When you visit the pub please let the staff know you have seen it on Pub Explorer.
