Goat PhotoThe main bar of The Goat dates back to 1697, with pictures and a history of the pub displayed in the restaurant and features such as very low ceilings and the fireplace remaining. The pub is located in Shepperton, close to the studios, within easy reach of Kempton Park and Sandown race courses, the River Thames five minutes walk away and a golf course across the road. Legoland and Thorpe Park are less than half an hour from here.   Having had a refurbishment to a high standard in April 2007 this is now a very different pub – an upmarket venue which is bright and to a more contemporary style.  As you come in, the bar has slate floors which continue through to the top end which is carpeted with sofa, soft seating, alongside traditional seating and high bar stools.  We have fresh flowers on the tables and bar with candles on the tables.  Stairs lead you into the bright and comfortable restaurant.  It is an ideal place to come alone, as a couple or with friends for a drink or meal.  Because we only have soft background music and no TVs, you can enjoy a conversation without having to shout.  The new carvery offers you an excellent choice of daily roasts, with choices of three types of potatoes and fresh seasonal vegetables.  The bar menu offers favourites such as bangers & mash, British steak & ale pies, Moroccan chicken etc. etc.  All this can be enjoyed with a starter and / or dessert if you have the appetite!!    Come and see the changes first hand next time you are in the area.  A warm, friendly welcome awaits from Pat and the team.

When you visit the pub please let the staff know you have seen it on Pub Explorer.
