 The Gate is located opposite Alexander Palace
railway station and close to the tube station in Wood
Green. Built in 1875 this listed building has always been a
hotel or pub of some description. Inside used to be divided into sections but over the years the
partitions have been removed and it is now a spacious open plan pub. Traditional in
style yet with a modern feel about it, there is old wood, ornate
mirrors and etchings around the place. There is an island bar in the
centre surrounded by a mixture of seating, freestanding tables and chairs, poser tables and sofas.
Free Wi-Fi access enables our clientele to work or surf the net whilst
enjoying a coffee or something stronger. Friendly efficient service is
provided by the helpful team of
staff and we attract a mixture of commuters, students, local residents
and office workers. Stone baked pizzas are available to eat in or take away
