The Gate is located opposite Alexander Palace railway station and close to the tube station in Wood Green.  Built in 1875 this listed building has always been a hotel or pub of some description.  Inside used to be divided into sections but over the years the partitions have been removed and it is now a spacious open plan pub.  Traditional in style yet with a modern feel about it, there is old wood, ornate mirrors and etchings around the place.  There is an island bar in the centre surrounded by a mixture of seating, freestanding tables and chairs, poser tables and sofas.  Free wi-fi access enables our clientele to work or surf the net whilst enjoying a coffee or something stronger.  Friendly efficient service is provided by the helpful team of staff and we attract a mixture of commuters, students, local residents and office workers.  Pub food is served from a main menu with a choice of snacks. A particular favourite is one of our own stone baked pizzas which are available to eat in or take away.  Popular for Sports we show all major matches on the many screens positioned around the pub.  Make sure you visit this trouble free and female friendly venue next time you are in Wood Green.
