Situated in
an affluent area on the famous Flask Walk, which is a tourist destination in
itself, the Flask pub is steeped in history. Located in Hampstead, the
village pub was originally known as The Thatched House in the early 1800’s.
It was
demolished, rebuilt as a working class pub and renamed the Flask in 1874. The
public and saloon bars are separated by a listed ornamental screen which
is mentioned in many guides and magazines. The panels were painted by
the well known artist Jan Van Beers. Now a retreat to enjoy a well kept
pint of real ale or delicious pub lunch, you can relax without loud music or
sport to spoil your enjoyment. This traditional English pub atmosphere is
attractive to a large number of regular locals, who enjoy a drink alongside
the tourists,
many of whom are American and several famous faces who frequent this
establishment. Food can be enjoyed throughout the pub and since all our
meals are prepared and cooked fresh to order, you won't be disappointed.
Everything from traditional fish and chips to hearty steak pies are on the
menu. Outside in the summer time three sets of tables and chairs are placed on
Flask Walk so you can watch the world go by beneath the hanging baskets.
