The Druids Head is located in
the market place, where a daily market is held, in the centre of the historical town of Kingston-upon-Thames. One half of
the building
dates back to the 1400’s, whereas the other side is slightly more modern, retaining traditional features, in keeping with the British pub
concept. This venue is recognised as a good
safe place for some quiet solace and an ideal meeting place where you can come
for a peaceful drink with your partner or friends. There are several
different areas to suit all moods. There is a quaint ‘snug bar’ with an open fireplace
which gives it a
home from home feel. You can chill out on the sofa in the bar area or
choose to relax in the nooks and crannies which are more private for intimate drinking and
dining. There is an upstairs bar which is opened on Friday and Saturday nights
and is a popular area for private hire as it leads onto a sun terrace. There is
also a conference room. The extensive outdoor seating area comfortably seats
70 people. We get a real mixture of people from tourists to students and
regular locals. Good pub food is served all day until late from a menu
which offers classic
English food such as our beer battered fish & chips, using traditional ales
to make the batter, to continental style food such as Tapas. You can dine
throughout the pub or outside when the weather permits. We are very
proud to have been awarded Best Pub in
Kingston 2007 but nationally recognised ‘Best Bar None’. This is
definitely a pub to put on your 'must try soon' list. Come and visit
this very friendly venue soon.
