CAKE MAKING CLASSES

Cake Classes are being held at The Ship Inn. We have a selection of 6 week courses teaching you a variety of skills from covering cakes to making sugar flowers. One day workshops are also running - the next is on September 10th, where you will learn how to cover and decorate a cake. All materials are supplied and lunch & refreshments are included in the day.

The Ship Inn at Alveston is a lovely, large old Coaching House which dates back to 1589! It is located just off the M5 on the outskirts of Thornbury, between Bristol Zoo and Gloucester, near the Castle and Slimbridge Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust. You can enjoy beautifully presented food from our exciting new menu in our refurbished bar and restaurant which we re-opened from in March 2009. Primarily of modern decor using light colours it is bright and airy but we have kept it's traditional charm. With 150 covers there is plenty of room to relax and enjoy the friendly, welcoming atmosphere of this destination food house. Like all Chef & Brewer pubs we employ high quality Chefs who have superb kitchen facilities. The food can be chosen from a main menu or unique Specials from the chalk boards which allow our Chefs to show their flair! You will be served meals which have been prepared from the freshest of ingredients and cooked to order. To complement your meal there is an extensive choice of quality wines.
