The Green Dragon is located
just off the A63 in Welton village, near Brough, three and a half miles from
Hull. Tourist attractions like The Deep and the Wilberforce Museum are on
the doorstep and the fabulous Yorkshire coastline with Withernsea, Hornsea,
Bridlington and Scarborough are close by as is the historic city of York.
Being on the trans-Pennine trail, we are one of the official stamping
stations for walkers and are also popular with cyclists. Dating back to the
1600’s and steeped in history, the Green Dragon is said to be where Dick
Turpin frequented before his capture and execution at York.
Outside, the patio area overlooks the village green, with its duck
pond - an ideal spot for watching the world go by. Inside you can enjoy a
relaxed atmosphere with traditional features such as wooden beams, a snug
bar, dining room and bar area. Our menu offers a variety of meals from
sandwiches and bar snacks through to the full Sunday roast. You will always
find something fresh to tempt you on our specials board, updated daily
