|
|
ABOUT
US |
|
The White Horse was rebuilt
in the early 1930s, an inn having been on the site since the early 18th
century. The hotel has spectacular views over the sea and is located on
the edge of the South Downs just three miles east of Brighton. The
attractive bar and restaurant have sea views and offer an extensive
menu. With its patio and terraces, the hotel is ideal for a break by the
sea. |

The White
Horse is ideally situated with the
front of this attractive cream building looking directly onto the sea. Being built on the cliffs, it has no road frontage. There has always been a White Horse in
the small seaside village of Rottingdean where Rudyard Kipling resided.
The present building was built around the 1920's and has since been extended. Brighton is
only
3 miles to the East with plenty of local buses and taxis to get
you there. Our comfortable rooms are fully equipped to include such
items as a TV and even
a DVD player, which doubles to play CD's. Six of the rooms have a sea view. The Thomas Clare Suite has a sleigh bed
and the Kipling Suite, a comfortable 4 poster. Both rooms have a sea view and the added bonus of a full sized telescope for
spectacular views. There is a separate resident's lounge so you can relax and chat with other
guests or enjoy a quiet read of your newspaper with a drink.
Delicious meals are served in the restaurant from an excellent
main menu, as well as our 'And A
Little Bit More' choice board. With all our food and vegetables being
fresh, you will not be disappointed. As we are by the sea we
have access to the freshest fish and a variety of these dishes are served all year round. A popular Sunday carvery is also available.
The function suite can hold up to 90 people seated and has full conference
facilities. With it's spectacular location it is ideal for all
special occasions and we are very popular for wedding receptions,
anniversaries and christenings. In fact all function enquiries are
welcome. Whether it's to stay with us, dine here or just pop in for a drink you will be made to feel most welcome at the
White Horse Hotel. |
