The Swan Mountain Range Restaurant & Bar,
in the heart of Forest Row, is a place that is well worth taking the
time to find. The oldest parts of which are medieval when the
establishment served as an ale house to drovers, packhorse men and
smugglers. Today's building dates from the 18th and 19th Centuries
when, then called the Yew Tree, the pub became a busy Coaching Inn
on the turnpike road between London and Brighton. The age and
history of this splendid pub can still be seen in the interior
decoration of this friendly and relaxing place. With large log
burning fireplaces, low beamed ceilings, a cosy intimate snug and a
large vaulted ceiling restaurant area and also a sun terrace and
garden for those sunny days! |
