Our chefs provide a range of freshly prepared meals including a variety of traditional British favourites in addition to a selection of innovative and interesting dishes. Daily changing house Specials compliment the core menu. From tasty main courses such as 'Pan-seared Barbary Duck Breast served with Blackberry & Vintage Port sauce' to light bar snacks such as 'Hand-carved Norfolk Ham & Free Range Eggs', whichever you choose, your taste buds will be satisfied.

White Hart, Braintree The White Hart is a beautifully presented recently refurbished building which dates back to the 14th Century. Originally built between the junction of 2 Roman roads, it was a Coaching / Posting House during the 17th Century. In approximately 1830 part of the old building was pulled down to make way for assembly / reading rooms which still exist as our bar to the rear of the hotel. The White Hart insignia dates back to Charles II who inherited the badge from his mother. Traditional warm hospitality is always on offer here, where helpful staff can be found. Our cuisine is not to be missed and all food is freshly prepared and cooked to order from our own extensive menus. Vegetarians are well catered for with 5 starters and 6 main course dishes to choose from. As well as this there is a large selection of delicious fish dishes, which are a key part of our menu. A children's menu is also available so there is something for everyone. Lounge, bar and restaurant menus are on offer throughout various times of the day and all meals are cooked to our usual high standard with service to match. Our en-suite bedrooms offer you the comfort of home with all the facilities such as tea / coffee making facility, iron and ironing board, as well as a CD stereo hi-fi which can be played through the TV. Feature rooms also offer a DVD player for your extra entertainment. Standard rates for rooms are very reasonable and special deals are almost always available through our central reservations. The White Hart Hotel is a popular venue for many special occasions including weddings, birthdays and office parties, and with our civil wedding licence, you can have everything under one roof.
