On the outskirts of the main
town of South Ockendon you will find the Royal Oak.
Originally an old Coaching Inn this traditional pub’s claim to fame is
that it once welcomed Dick Turpin through its doors! Part of the pub
dates back to medieval times! Plenty of weird things seem to happen
here suggesting we may be haunted!Nowadays our
passers by are generally office workers who come for a lunchtime meal, snack
or just a drink with friends and colleagues. The pub is open plan with
a designated dining area and people come from quite a way to have a meal
here in a trouble free and female friendly environment. Food can be
eaten anywhere in the pub or outside in the beer garden, weather permitting.
The Friendly royal Oak team welcome regulars and new faces.
