The
Riverside Inn is conveniently situated just five minutes
from Chelmsford town centre and railway station. It takes twenty
minutes to reach London’s Liverpool Street station and there are also excellent links to the M25.
This well appointed, restored 17th Century Mill stands on the River Chelmer
and is an ideal dining venue or stop off point for many locations. Fittings
from the old mill still remain and the old mill stream has the River Chelmer
running beneath it. Freshly cooked quality food is served daily from our
main menu offering a range of traditional English dishes alongside toasted
panninis, jackets and light bites. Afternoons and evenings can be spent in a
relaxed and calming environment away from the hubbub of the city.
There are two main
bar areas with secluded corners positioned among the old mill fittings for
more intimate conversations, alongside large soft leather couches with low
tables. During the summer, our secluded garden, overlooking the river and
mill stream is decked and is ideal for afternoon relaxation in the sun. The
eight en-suite bedrooms combine old with new and are furnished to a high
standard. All have up-to-date facilities such as air conditioning and WiFi
access along with the usual facilities you would expect.
