The Halfway House has a
separate room suitable for meetings, conferences and private functions
including wakes, small weddings of up to 50 people etc. Room hire is
free of charge. Buffets or seated meals available, also coffee / tea,
biscuits & sandwiches etc for meetings. Waitress service is provided for

 The Halfway House
is a new Carvery venue, located on the sea front in the up market area of the Eastern
Esplanade some way from Southend town centre. Built in the
late 1800’s it is a former Coaching House which has been much extended
over the years. Fully refurbished to a high standard in April
2008, this is a classic British
carvery but with a contemporary twist, light and airy with comfortable
modern furniture. There is a sumptuous feel with walls decorated in
creams, sage green, deep plum and chocolate brown. Our feature is the
'wine wall' situated behind the carvery, with over 200 bottles of wine of
display. The restaurant to the rear of the building with 198 covers.
You can also choose to dine on the patio or in the bar area which overlooks
the sea, where you are welcome to come along for just a coffee and maybe
take advantage of our free wireless internet access. Our new daily carvery offers you the best of British produce, with a choice of up to 3
roasts and wide selection of fresh seasonal vegetables. If you don't
want a full carvery meal we provide a a table menu with main dishes and
snacks / sharers available. To complement your meal or enjoy alone, we
offer an extensive selection of world wines, choice of fine real ales and
premium draught lagers.
Being
next to a Premier Inn we also have many business people in for a drink or
a meal. Breakfast is available to guests of the hotel and walk in people as
well. There is a separate function room, suitable of any occasion
from breakfast meetings to conferences or even small weddings, we will
ensure your event is well catered for. You will always be
welcomed by friendly staff and enjoy a relaxed atmosphere throughout
