All of our Carvery joints come from
British Red Tractor Assured Farms that ensure the safety and
welfare of their animals, whilst protecting and caring for the
environment. We only source the very best British meats and
seasonal vegetables, so our Carvery offer changes every day.
Today’s roasted meats will be
usually a choice of 3 of the following:
Matured Saxon British beef, Norfolk turkey, Stuffed belly of
Norfolk pork, Leg of Yorkshire pork, Outdoor bred British gammon,
West Country shoulder of lamb.
All served with a homemade Yorkshire pudding, chipolata sausage
and stuffing. Choose from a selection of freshly prepared
vegetables and potatoes. Top it all off with our roast onion (v)
or roast meat gravy.
Monday to Saturday £7.95.
Sunday £8.95.
If you do not fancy a Carvery meal
our Table menu has a comprehensive range of the best pub food
dishes. Why not try our 'Homemade Pie of the Day' served with
your choice of Carvery vegetables. |

 The Halfway House
is a new Carvery venue, located on the sea front in the up market area of the Eastern
Esplanade some way from Southend town centre. Built in the
late 1800’s it is a former Coaching House which has been much extended
over the years. This is a classic British
carvery but with a contemporary twist, light and airy with comfortable
modern furniture. There is a sumptuous feel with walls decorated in
creams, sage green, deep plum and chocolate brown. Behind the carvery
you will see our range of wines with over 200 bottles on
display. There is a large restaurant to the rear of the building.
You can also choose to dine on the patio or in the bar area which overlooks
the sea, where you are welcome to come along for just a coffee and maybe
take advantage of our free wireless internet access. Our new daily carvery offers you the best of British produce, with a choice of up to 3
roasts and wide selection of fresh seasonal vegetables. If you don't
want a full carvery meal we provide a a table menu with main dishes and
snacks / sharers available. To complement your meal or enjoy alone, we
offer an extensive selection of world wines, choice of fine real ales and
premium draught lagers.
Being
next to a Premier Inn we also have many business people in for a drink or
a meal. Breakfast is available to guests of the hotel and walk in people as
well. There is a separate function room, suitable of any occasion
from breakfast meetings to conferences or even small weddings, we will
ensure your event is well catered for. You will always be
welcomed by friendly staff and enjoy a relaxed atmosphere throughout
