The Cross
Keys Hotel is an 670 year
old building located on the High Street in the delightful old market town
of Saffron Walden. Refurbished in 2005, whilst still overflowing with history, Oliver Cromwell
used this as his base in the English Civil War many years ago! Our
friendly ghost is has been immortalised on TV in the cult programme 'England's Most Haunted'. As well as plenty of old features inside, many come to
observe the exterior which has a fine example of ornamental relief work
known as pargeting. Nowadays we are popular for food and serve a
mouth-watering Sunday Roast with a choice of three meats. It is
advisable to book so as not to be disappointed. Entertainment is
held occasionally with a karaoke and quiz night.
Come and see us soon in this trouble free, female friendly venue - don’t
just look at the outside! A team of friendly staff look
forward to your visit.
