Chequers Inn Photo

The Chequers Inn, originally built in 1410, is situated in the centre of the quiet village of Goldhanger which is within 5 minutes walking distance of the river backwater.  This river is popular with birdwatchers, fishermen and walkers alike. Walkers are allowed to leave their cars in the pubs car park.  The Chequers is located centrally from Maldon, Chelmsford and Colchester.  The interior of the pub and its separate restaurant remains unspoilt and is full of bric-a-brac and curios.

When you visit the pub please let the staff know you have seen it on Pub Explorer.
