 On the main street in the small town of Halstead we are located
12 miles from Colchester and 7 miles from Braintree. Built in 1398 The
Bull Hotel is a traditional black and
white Tudor style listed building. Inside feels warm
and cosy with an open fire for the winter months.
We have an extensive menu with homemade and
vegetarian choices. Lunchtimes are popular for
snacks or our daily specials, while our own
delicious full menu includes steaks with a sauce and
fish, with our Toad in the Hole being a particular
favourite. On Sunday we offer a traditional
Sunday lunch with a choice of 3 meats and all the
trimmings. Meals are served in the bar area with
Sunday lunch and special days such as Valentines or
Mothers Day are held in the function room.
Whatever you choose to eat at the Bull Hotel you
will never be disappointed. Should you stay with us,
our bedrooms are all en-suite. The hotel is
licensed for civil weddings so you can enjoy the
