The Bay Horse is a beautiful 15th Century Tudor style building situated in the centre of Chelmsford.  Inside, the traditional appearance is maintained by original features such as the old beams and wood furnishings.  The really diverse clientele and over 18's policy helps to make this the sociable, welcoming venue it is today.  During the day professionals, shoppers, office and shop workers come for a lunchtime break or drop in after work in the early evening.  Many enjoy a meal, others have a quality drink from the bar.  All are able to chill out in the relaxed atmosphere.  Later in the evening we attract a younger crowd of skaters, bikers and gothic.  We are particularly popular for regular live bands playing rock and punk.  If you are looking for something lively and different come and try us out next time you are in town.
