Yates's is a spectacular
large-fronted Georgian listed building, detached and set back in its own
grounds, overlooking the common and park. A good all round pub which leads
onto the common, you can follow the road down to the beach. We are
situated on the
circuit just off the town centre at the top of town where all the main
night time bars and clubs are. Although the building is listed and retains
original features such as the windows and steps up to the building, the
style is that of a modern bar, open plan with chill out areas with sofas.
The décor is also contemporary reds, browns and greens. There is a very mixed
customer base with business people, office workers and families coming in throughout
the day and a younger clientele who come to enjoy the good fun atmosphere at night time
when the environment is
trouble free and chilled. Being very female friendly, we get a lot of single
women in here who feel comfortable visiting us alone. Also popular for
Sports,
we show all sorts, rugby, cricket, football etc on the various plasma
screens around the bar. Meetings and parties of up to 300 people take
place in the upstairs bar where buffets can be arranged. Come and
sample a good night out at Yates's.
