The
original part of The Worlds End dates back to the 14th
Century and is the oldest pub in
Dorset. We are a proper country pub set in the middle of the
country on the main A31 to Dorchester, at Almer, which makes for a
pleasurable journey when driving to us. The
pub was sympathetically rebuilt in 1991 after a
fire, keeping the traditional atmosphere with the
open fireplace, nooks and crannies, whilst using
original materials where possible such as the
reclaimed beams to make it look just like the old
pub - it looks beautiful. We are very much a
destination pub with half our customers travelling
past us to and from Cornwall and the other half
being our regular local trade. Given our
location we also have many seasonal visitors and
children are very welcome. They can also enjoy
the home made meals from a separate children's menu
and then play happily in our outdoor children's play
area. This gives their carers the opportunity
of having a relaxed adult conversation. Make
sure you call in next time you are in the area and
treat yourself at this lovely venue. |
